The Norwegian ISMN Agency has been operating since 1996. The agency is part of the Acquisition and Bibliographic Services Department of the National Library of Norway.
Until July 2018, ISMN publisher identifiers have been allocated to about 95 music publishers. The scores are registered in the on-line database of the National Bibliography of Printed music, available at http://www.nb.no.
A directory of the Norwegian music publishers using ISMNs is available on the agency's website as well as an online version of the ISMN User's Manual in Norwegian.
