Backlist numbering

Only complete numbering of a publisher's stock will ensure the desired rationalizing effect of standard number use. As the ISMN is not yet used for ordering and distribution purposes like the ISBN, most publishers have not paid attention to backlist numbering.

Next meeting

The next ISMN Panel Meeting will be held in Turkey, probably Ankara, in May 2002, by kind invitation of the Turkish ISMN agency.
