6. Future of ISMN | ||||||||||||||
The director gave a positive outlook: There were two success stories: The new agency in Spain, and the renewed interest of Bowker in the US. The next target areas would be Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. Japan needed special attention and effort, however. With the help of music librarians the International Agency hoped to make progress. At the next IAML meeting in Edinburgh Lois Clark would contribute a report on the British ISMN activities. The director would publicize ISMN during a trip to Brazil and Argentine. It would be of particular importance to advertise the benefits of the ISMN system because people were hardly interested in numbering per se.
